If you need a football fix check out NFL Network. With Comcast Cable company it’s only around $7.00 and change. I’m not trying to promote for another company, I’m just trying to let people who are football heads know about a great spot where they can get a fix, and that is NFL network when they replay entire football games, usually matchups that had great finishes or were good mostly through all four quarters.

But that is not the best part. They show the games without the breaks in between plays so they go faster. If they showed thee old broadcasts in their entirety, then I could definitely see that being a problem. And for those of you thinking that an extra $7.00+ a month is too much to ask for one more channel, please note that is the price of an entire sports package that includes racing, fencing, (a whole bunch of other crap) but probably most importantly the NBA TV channel.

Don’t forget that this channel is great for the regular and post seasons as well as you can tune in any time of the day if you’re not satisfied with the converge from Sports Center.

Today, the Plaxico Burress case was adjured until the later date of June 15th. Many people were skeptical weither this would happen or not, but it may be a sign that his high priced legal team may be close to a plea deal that will allow him to play in the upcoming NFL season. Regardless it seems as if Plaxico will have to do some sort of jail time, but the question is when. As I recall Jamal Lewis spent his off-seasons in jail, a couple of years back due to drug trafficking charges, and maybe it’s possible we could see something similar for the Giants superstar Wide-out. There is no question that Plaxico does not want to spend any time in jail. Yet, it seems more and more evident that it will be tough for Plax to stay out of the big house. New York city guns laws are a bit overboard and are seemingly unconstitutional, so this will be a very interesting case, without a doubt, if it ever makes it to trial. The Sportsroids.com team will be supporting Plaxico on June 15th at New York city Criminal Court by picketing the trial! So if you wish to support the Giants Superbowl champion wide out, from the moronic liberal city government that wishes to jail him mostly due to his celebrity, please show up! Plaxico, hurt no one except himself and he is now being denied basic liberties that Thomas Jefferson, one of our founding fathers, fervently believed in. Jefferson stated his strong convictions in the right to bear arms consitently. One example of this fact is on Page 334 of his famous Thomas Jefferson Papers when he wrote, “No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government”. Realize that no citizen in New York City can apply for a conceal permit, and to get a carry lisence is a very tough process, in hopes that people won’t try to get one. Sounds a bit unfair doens’t it? Regardless, I feel that the the cities gun laws are ridiculous, for this reason. Banning weapons and making them harder to aquire legally only strengthens those who don’t follow the rules, much like the steriods ban in sports. Those who cheat are winning, in the system. These laws only serve to help criminals stay finaiced and in power over the law abiding populous of New York City.

One thing pissing me off big time after week 16 is the following… why is no one mentioning that the Falcons have a chance to lock up the number two seed in the NFL? If The Falcons accomplish the highly un-venerable task of defeating the waste-filled Saint Louis Rams in Atlanta this weekend, and the Carolina Panthers are defeated in New Orleans next week, the Atlanta Falcons end up winning the NFC South. We already know that the Giants have locked up the top seed by beating Carolina in OT Sunday night, but the Cardinals at best can finish 9-7 in the NFC West, and the Bears or Vikings can only finish at 10-6 to win the NFC North. What does this mean? Either the Falcons or Panthers are guaranteed the two seed.

But why is no one talking about it? Because every dumb analyst has it in their mind that the Falcons wonderful turn-around in the post Michael Vick mortem was simply in clinching their Wild Card berth. But hello! They can even get a bye! That would be totally huge!

Not only do they overcome last year’s fiasco and make the playoffs with a rookie QB, but they now have a chance to put themselves in a highly viable position of reaching a Super Bowl with one home win and one road win, as long as the Giants win their first game. I mean, geez, they could end up hosting the NFC Championship if the Giants lose their first game!

Someone please talk about it. I’ve watched PTI, Sports Center, and heard every FOX, CBS, and NBC analyst and commentator and not one of them has thought about this. It pisses me off and I almost hope to god that the Falcons get the two seed to see if they all have dumb looks on their faces.

Carolina… pleeeeease lose. I already know the Falcons have the Rams game in their back pocket, so I’m not worried about you. Later.

Okay, I lied about getting paid to do extensive research. However, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that we’re seeing a lot of inconsistencies with our players and we don’t know who to start anymore. So here’s the problem that I will answer in this article; who should we start?

Play the game smart. Now is not the time to look for sleeper picks unless your starter is hurt. Wide Receiver Hines Ward of the Pittsburgh Steelers is an example of a very inconsistent starter. If you have him, you cannot risk not starting him in week 13 even though he did terrible in week 12. Quarterback Brady Quinn of the Cleveland Browns is another inconsistent starter. He did great in week 11, but had to leave after the first half in week 12 to let Quarterback Derek Anderson in to possibly spark any hope in coming back. The only difference between Brady Quinn and Hines Ward is, don’t not start Brady Quinn. Look for another quarterback asap. Quarterback Matt Cassel of the New England Patriots is an awesome quarterback and I’ve always believed he’d produce and he is. If he hasn’t been picked, pick him up NOW and start him if you are having quarterback problems.

Running Back Reggie Bush of the New Orleans Saints is a keeper but I wouldn’t start him in week 13. Right now, Running Back Pierre Thomas of the New Orleans Saints is looking pretty good especially with week 12’s game ending with 87 rushing yards and 2 rushing touchdowns against the Green Bay Packers. The Saints might let him get a few more carries over Reggie Bush if they let him play in week 14 to allow Bush to get the rest he needs. Wait for week 14 or 15 before you start Bush again. If you’re having problems with your running back position and you need to make the playoffs, you might want to consider dropping Reggie Bush. Look for Kevin Faulk of the New England Patriots, Mewelde Moore of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Peyton Hillis of the Denver Broncos if they haven’t been picked up.

Running Back Tatum Bell of the Denver Broncos was expected by a lot of fantasy football owners as a potential sleeper pick but ended up as a fluke. I wouldn’t count on him for the rest of the season. Running Back Peyton Hillis will carry most of the rushes for Denver as long as he keeps doing what he has been doing for the past 2 weeks. In week 12, he carried 12 times for 74 yards with an average of 6 yards per carry.

The Cleveland Browns, Philadelphia Eagles, and the Seattle Seahawks are a team you should stay away from. I wouldn’t start any of their players except for Tight End Kellen Winslow of the Cleveland Browns because they are struggling teams that aren’t going to produce for you. Quarterback Donovan Mcnabb of the Philadelphia Eagles is struggling right now and isn’t getting any support from his team, his coach, or his fans. Mentally, he will be down and until he can prove that he can come out of his slump, do not start him. A once first round draft pick, Running Back Brian Westbrook of the Philadelphia Eagles is also a player who you probably don’t want to start. He is still hurt and even though he’s playing through the pain, he obviously isn’t producing the stats he needs to for you to win. Look to sit him out for week 13.

Look at your starters and keep them in unless you have the starters I’ve named in this article to bench. Remember, play the game smart and don’t risk anything yet. Your team is on the line and you NEED to make the playoffs! Leave comments and I’ll respond to them with any tips I can offer.

During the Denver Broncos and Cleveland Brown’s game this past Thursday, we were all asking, “WHAT IS UP WITH THE GLOVE!?” after Wide Receiver Brandon Marshall received the game winning touchdown from Quarterback Jay Cutler. We will probably never know the real intentions due to a very smart Wide Receiver Brandon Stokley who we can speculate, ran up to Brandon Marshall and told him, “DON’T DO IT!”

My initial reaction after he pulled a glove out of his pants was, “he’s going to slap someone in the face with it!” However, that’s something I think I would do or maybe even Terrell Owens would do. In an interview with ESPN, Brandon Marshall claims he pulled out the white glove to symbolize the recent Presidential Election between Senators McCain and Obama. CHIPZ SAYZ, “I still don’t believe it but hey, we will never know.”

CHIPZ sayz, “Quinn-tastic? or Quinn-untastic?” Brady Quinn of the Cleveland Browns was drafted after the 2006 Season from Notre Dame and was sat during the entire 2007 Season and half of the 2008 season. Did Head Coach Romeo Crennel make a bad decision in starting Quarterback Derek Anderson in the 2007 and 2008 Season? In my opinion, it was a very smart move. The future team of the Cleveland Browns was intended to have Brady Quinn as their leader… As their starting quarterback. So why now?

I am a strong believer that starting a rookie quarterback is a very bad move. Quarterback Vince Young of the Tennessee Titans was believed to be the one that would lead his team to the Super Bowl; however, he miserably failed. Many people believe that a scrambling quarterback isn’t suitable in the NFL because everyones too fast and it just simply doesn’t work. Don’t blame it on that. Vince Young was just too young and didn’t know how to utilize his weapons to the highest potential. It’s like giving a 16 year old kid a Ferrari. You just don’t do that! Which is the reason why Quarterback Kerry Collins is having so much success. He has the experience and knows how to use his team.

Quarterback Derek Anderson is a good backup quarterback but is not starting material. Benching Brady Quinn for a season and a half will just mature him and allow him to learn and completely understand the team’s offensive playbook. Head Coach Romeo Crennel probably intended to sit Brady Quinn for the entire 2008 season only to start him in the 2009 season; however, due to the fact that in the NFL, it’s all about instant gratification; therefore, Head Coach Romeo Crennel knew that his job was on the line and had to make a move. Is it too early to start Brady Quinn or are we quite possibly looking at another great quarterback? Only tonight’s game will tell.

If you are a Fantasy Football Owner, I wouldn’t recommend starting Brady Quinn. He has only played one game in the 2007 season where he went 3 for 8 throwing for 45 yards which isn’t solid but it’s not enough to determine if he’ll do well for you as a Fantasy Football Owner. He’s going to have a tough road for him for the rest of the entire season because of their strong opponents they will be playing against for the remaining season. This is where the boys stand out amongst men! AND that’s how the fortune cookie crumbles!

With the reasoning for the decision to waive two-time Pro Bowl cornerback DeAngelo Hall by the Raiders being unclear, it is a little harder to round out teams that will want to pick him up. If he was cut due to character issues, then there are teams who, based on tradition, will most likely do nothing more than ponder the idea like Pittsburgh or Green Bay. Then there are teams like Dallas. They have already made some heady and questionable moves this season and I wouldn’t count out Jerry Jones and Co. to seize the opportunity. But then again, who knows for sure why he was cut?

I'm sure Antoine Winfield won't mind having a fellow Pro Bowler like DeAngelo Hall by his side.

Based off of that, I would not be surprised if the Vikings picked him up as well. This is a team that has already made a big defensive move picking up Jared Allen in the off-season, and to add a corner of Hall’s caliber to an already great number one corner in Antoine Winfield would probably create one of the league’s most formidable duos at the position.

I also feel that New England has been missing Asante Samuel, so I wouldn’t count them out of the picture. The other teams I would put in the mix would be the Carolina Panthers as they would like to become the top D in the NFC south with the Falcons and Buccaneers defenses playing well for the most part.

Finally, I would go with Arizona as a very strong possibility. The Cardinals by now have to know that they are pretty much a lock to win their division, barring an upset this Monday Night at home in the desert by the 49ers. If they wish to matchup better with the true contenders and upstarts of the league then a strong corner like DeAngelo Hall would help them tremendously.

Reggie bush admitted to the public that he will be getting arthroscopic knee surgery soon. The Saints are hopeful that the surgery only shows the assumed problem the meniscus in his left knee. He should be fine to go, they think in 3 to 4 weeks. There have also been some reports that he will could be back in 2 to 3 weeks. Bush was injured this week late in the 2nd Quarter while returning a punt. It is really a shame, Reggie was coming on strong, and now he is riding the pine. The only positive in this situation is that due to the timing of the injury Reggie will get an extra week of free rest, due to the week 9 bye for the Saints. The Saints have definitely been bit by the injury bug this year.

Fantasy Advice

If you can definatly pick up Big Macallister for the time being. He is only owned in 70 % of fantasy leagues, so it is worth the time to check. He will be very productive for the next couple of weeks considering Bush’s absence.

N.O. at CAR-New Orleans is so inconsistent. But I think they’ll get it together in Carolina.

MIN at CHI-Both teams have good defense, good running games, and averaging passing games. I’ll take the team at home… Chicago.

PIT at CIN-Cincinnati is reeling and Big Ben is 5-0 all time in Cincinnati. Steelers win.

TEN at KC-Kansas City won’t even have Larry Johnson for this game. Titans win.

BAL at MIA-Miami is rolling too hard offensively for Joe Flacco to keep up with and pretty soon this Ravens’ defense will begin to slack since they have no offensive help.

S.F. at NYG-The giants blew it last week, but they can’t lose to this 2-4 trash at home. Giants win.

DAL at STL-Romo or Johnson? Who knows? The Cowboys are reeling losing two of their last three. I just have a feeling this is an upset in the making. Rams win.

DET at HOU-Houston can at least play competitively and have shown offense. Detroit’s only close game was last week when they lost 10-12. Houston should shred them.

IND at G.B.-Even though Indianapolis seemed to hit its stride last week, Aaron Rodgers is playing pretty stellar and the Packer defense is better than the Colts’. I’ll go with Green Bay.

NYJ at OAK-Brett Favre is undefeated in Oakland all-time. That shall remain the same.

CLE at WAS-Both teams were complete opposites from one another last week. Washington was on the rise and lost to a bottom dweller, while Cleveland was a disappointment and beat a championship contender. Now that they’ve got their heads on straight, I’ll take Washington.

SEA at T.B.-Seattle is 1-4 and has been downright atrocious on both sides of the ball. Tampa wins.

DEN at N.E.-Denver has been inconsistent the last few weeks but the Patriots have been the same. I’ll take the Pats at home against Belichick’s football IQ.
