Bears Trade Kyle Orton and 2 First round Picks for Rex Grossman?

jay cutler Bears Trade Kyle Orton and 2 First round Picks for Rex Grossman?

Bears Trade Kyle Orton and 2 First round Picks for Rex Grossemen?

OK that is not what happened but essentially Jay cutler and Rex are what I call “same guys” If you need an example, (Nick Nolte, Gary Busie (same guy)), (Lavernius Coles, Santana Moss (Same guy), (Phill Simms, Bommer Esaision(Same guy)). Meaning that they a different people but in fact look similar and have pretty much the exact same set of skills. Rex was touted for his arm strength and ability to continue a play, just like Cutler. The problem it is not the quarterbacks in Chicago it is the play calling, now the team has another Rex Grossman, who clearly did not work in their system and essentially are going to ruin Jay Cutlers career. If Rex Grossman was in Denver he would have played well to…..think about it Brian Griese, and Jake the Snake, both played well under Shannohan’s genius offensive designs. Chicago has made a huge mistake by giving up their top picks for another Rex Grossman, mark it down now this move will lead to Lovie Smith losing his job sooner or later. Now I am not saying that Jay cutler isn’t good believe me he is, but he isn’t great and the way the Chicago offense is currently set up you can’t succeed unless you are great. For this trade to work Chicago is going to need to change their offense to fit Jay cutler which is a spread balance attack, but Chicago has one problem; they can’t go spread because they have no receivers. Also due to the trade they won’t have a chance to pick up a top Wideout in the draft for two years. Great job Chicago (sarcasm)

Tom Brady is Ruining football!!!!!!

spaceball Tom Brady is Ruining football!!!!!!tom brady Tom Brady is Ruining football!!!!!!

Tom Brady is Ruining football!!!!!!

First it was the tuck rule now it is the Brady rule.   The NFL will pass a rule that says players currently on the ground cannot attack the quarterback below the waste, whether he is in possession of the ball or not.  This rule is supposed to be in place to protect the quarterbacks but the Quarterbacks don’t need any more protecting.   In the last 10 years only 2 quarterbacks have suffered injury from a player grabbing them while on the ground, Tom Brady, and Carson Palmer.  Both of whom are now fine and will be playing in the upcoming season.  To be honest I am sick of Tom Brady ruining football the tuck rule was bad enough but this is just plain stupid, they are changing the game in manner that it should not be.   Defensive players soon will no longer be allowed to do anything and all football games will look like arena football.    The thing that NFL has forgotten is that Carson Palmer and Tom Brady’s injuries are their own fault.   Tom Brady has a sloppy throwing stance and lazy legs in the pocket, that makes him stand with straight legs when he is in the pocket, so when he throws the ball there is no give in his knees if a defender were to hit him.   That is why Brady got injured, his lazy legs and an inability to chop his feet in the pocket.  If you look at almost every other quarterback in the league including Peyton Manning they all chop their feet to a degree in the pocket so when they get hit low there is give in their knees.   Tom Brady’s injury was inevitable because of this straight leg pocket stance all quarterbacks with stances like that get knee injuries.   The NFL just needs to tell Tom to chop his feet and be more active in the pocket and the problem would be solved.

Its official Steelers win!! Polamalu compares Kurt Warner to Tommy Maddox.

tommy maddox1 Its official Steelers win!! Polamalu compares Kurt Warner to Tommy Maddox.

In an interview this week Troy Polamalu was asked about Kurt Warners resurgence in the NFL, Polamalu went on to compare it to Tommy Maddox’s days with the Steelers.    He stated that Kurt Warner is a good quarter back in a great system with great players, and that is the truth.  While Kurt Warner is a good quarterback we all saw how well he performed in New York.   If that indeed is the truth then here is another truth you can’t win the Super Bowl with Tommy Maddox at the helm.   The Steelers know all to well what that is like,  the only concern now is if Kurt Warner  a former NFL MVP and Super Bowl Champion will use that comment as fuel to help him play better.  I know that if I was compared to Tommy Maddox in anything I would be quite upset.    Now the intention is not to take what Polamalu said out of context, he in fact was doing his best (as all the Players have been doing this week) to say nothing but good things about the other team to keep media hype down.  However if Tommy Maddox is involved in the topic there can be no good to come from it.   On the other side I am sure Tommy Maddox is somewhere saying “yeah I am kinda like Kurt Warner” ha ha ha.

Edwards out: Making Sense of all the Coach Firings

herman edwards Edwards out: Making Sense of all the Coach Firings

Well this year we have seen an unprecedented amount of coaches losing their jobs, coaches with winning teams and coaches with losing teams, as well as coaches who didn’t even get to finish the season.  It is important to take note of what actually is happening in NFL.  Many people are confused or surprised by the amount of caches getting fired and while it may seem ridicules it is only logically.

The reason that so many coaches have been sent packing is because of the initial firings of Crennel and Mangini.   With a number of other coaches being sent packing the week following the end of the regular season a domino effect was created.  As the Marque coaching minds of Crennel and Mangini hit the market; well as a slew of coordinators that are ready to be head coaches teams took note.  What this meant is that teams the likes of the Rams, Lions, and Browns had a chance to lock these great coaches in.   While teams on the bubble like Denver, Tampa Bay, Kansa City, New York Jets, and Raiders who may have been happy with the performance or at least the skill of their coaches were forced to make a decision.  This meant that if they did not get rid of these good coaches they would not be able to pick up the next crop of great coaches for some time.   So they released their head coaches to hit what is really a coaching free agent market.   With the successive firing of each coach like Mangini, Shannahan, Gruden, and now Edwards, teams would be stupid to let other teams pick these great coaches up, so in turn they got rid of their coaches.  What you are going to see really is a giant change of hands as most of these coaches end up as head coaches at another team.  Don’t expect this to happen again anytime soon as you will see all the great coaches will get at least 3 years to prove their worth meaning little coaching firings occurring during that time.

Every now and then Sportsroids comes across a person or institution that truly deserves recognition, when we come across them we like to offer an official salute to them on our salutes page.

Today Sportsroids would like to Salute the Arizona Cardinals fan, yes you the true fan not the guy who broke his leg on Sunday trying to hop on the band wagon. We salute the fan who was their when they were the Phoenix cardinals and the St. Louis Cardinals, or if you are old enough the Chicago Cardinals. The guy who saw Jake Plummer come like a beacon of hope only to impress and still fail to win, the one who was there when David Boston posted amazing stats on his steroid binge, and who saw a young and promising Thomas Jones ride the bench under Antionio Pittman. We Salute that fan; the one who could name the whole entire 1994 roster, the one who can recite every first round pick from 1970 to the present, the guy who still where’s his Ottis Anderson jersey, YES YOU we salute you on this day. We salute you because a new light has dawned on this once dismal franchise and for all your years of pain you the true fan finally don’t have to say maybe next year. Because this is your year win lose or draw you have overcome the ney sayers and have shown that with persistence that paces back over 100 years even the lowly can rise to the top, out of the broken ashes of this dismal franchise arises not a Cardinal but mush like it’s nearest city a Phoenix. So hold you head up Cardianls fan because Sportsroids sends you an official salute.

Polamalu owns Ed Reed in Big Game

January 18, 2009 by MadisonMadnuff · 2 Comments

Ed Reed never won one of these

Troy Polamalu is the best safety in the league, while he and Ed Reed play different safety positions I find the disrespect that he gets awful.   All these past four weeks, all you heard about was Ed Reed and his 9 interceptions on the season, most of which he got later in year.  People forget that Polamalu was leading the league in interceptions prior to that with 7.  Polamalu is a great cover safety though he may not be as good as Ed Reed is, he is not fair behind him.  But one thing that Ed Reed can’t do is be a presence in all facets of defense.  This AFC championship game showed that. Ed reed was almost none existent in the biggest game of his career, while Polamalu was a force to be reckoned with.  Troy Polamalu can play the pass the run and blitz;  when was the last time you saw Ed Reed in the box?  Well I will tell you almost never.  While Ed Reed is one of the greatest safeties ever Polamalu is just better because he can do more.  He stopped Flacco on a fourth down conversion attempt and then again for a major loss on a designed quarterback run.   Ed didn’t have any tackles in the back field “go fiqure”  Polamalu is on completely different level than other safeties and tonight proved it.

AP Snubs another Defensive MVP

peyton manning award AP Snubs another Defensive MVP

Well Peyton has won another league MVP this year and I say he disserved it, but so did a lot of other players.   My question is how come defensive players can’t get league MVP, I feel James Harrison should have gotten the league MVP this year.   Their wasn’t one employer over Harrison that had more of an impact on his team this year.  If defense win championships then defensive players should be considered for MVP awards.

It seems much like the Hesiman the “best players” in the league can only be offensive players, how come?  When the Colts won the Super bowl what was the difference maker in their season and ushering them to the playoffs?  Bob Sanders.  When the Giants won the super bowl what catapulted them to the mid-season turn around? Osi Umenyora.  I find it quiet ridicules that the voters feel that defensive players don’t have as much of an impact on the game as offensive players.  James Harrison was hands down the best NFL Player this year;  his impact on a team that really only won because of their great defensive can’t be ignored.  If you look back into the past often a great defensive player is the catalyst to leading a team to victory.

It seems that people just have a hard time excepting the fact that the MVP may be a defensive player because the stats are hard to measure at times.  Offensive players have very tangible stats that relate directly to them.  Defensive players stats don’t always reflect on them personally for example, a team may allow 2.5 yards a rush with a player in the game and allow 4.5 when they are not.  The latter is a team stat not an individual stat even though it still shows the impact that that player has on his team.   Despite that this year James Harrison had very tangible stats leading the league in forced fumbles, top 5 in sacks and leader of one of the best defensive statistically in NFL history.  The guy never hand a bad game and was never the reason that his team lost this year.  When the colts lost games often Peyton made mistakes of course when the won it was only because of him as well, but still I fell defensive players need to be considered.   The second and third place vote getters were Michael Turner and Chad Pennington, James Harrison played better than either of these two.  What is going to take for a defensive player to get the league MVP award?  That is why the Mad’Nuff league MVP goes to James Harrison.

How do you fell about this topic please stat your opinion on MVP voting.

Eric Mangini fired…..Why?:

December 30, 2008 by MadisonMadnuff · Leave a Comment

Well a number of coaches have gotten the boot this week, in the growing trend of NFL teams with a “win now or go somewhere else” policy.  While there are a lot of the coaches who have gotten fired this year that I don’t argue with, the Mangini firing really gets under my skin.  If you look back through the times and recently;  you will notice one ongoing g trend, “Bad teams have high coaching turnover”.  This is because the owners of the teams get rid of the coaches who aren’t winning.  However with Eric Mangini this was not the case,  Mangini managed to get to the playoffs his first year as a head coach, and had a winning record this year.    The Jets are far from a talented football team they have many holes player wise,  “mostly on defense” but out of shear coaching genius he has managed to win games .     The Jets did not give him enough time to build and perfect his system.  Especially as a first time head coach, it takes time go through what works and what does not, the Jets did not give Mangini that chance.

When teams fire coaches in the second and third year they create a self fulfilling prophecy.  As mentioned before perennially bad teams have high coaching turnovers.  This is because often when one of these teams gets a good coach they do not give him a chance to succeed.  I feel that if you have confidence in the person you higher to be your head coach you give them a minimum of five years to turn things around and if during those five years they are winning and going to the playoffs you keep them.   Often even when a new coach is winning like Mangini, the team still fires them because they did not win the Super Bowl.  Take a look at Marty Schottenheimer (who coincidently is being looked at by the jets),and the Chargers, the Chargers still do not have a Super Bowl after hiring Norv Turner and just barely made it to the Playoffs this year.  If they would have kept Marty on board I fell that they would have their Super Bowl by now.

 eric mangini Eric Mangini fired…..Why?:

Simply put it is time for a change in the NFL, look at teams like Tennessee, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, New England, Carolina, and Denver.  These are teams that stick with their coaches and in doing so give themselves a chance to win the Super Bowl every year.   With the exception of Carolina and Tennessee all of these teams have won Super Bowls in the past 12 years and at best all you can hope for is 1 Super Bowl every 15 years.  In the end Mangini will land at a team that will allow him the time to win and you will see that he becomes a Super Bowl champion.  In the end teams need to stick with their talented coaches and stand behind them and they will get their coveted prize, the respect of the NFL for being loyal to their staff, and the love of their fans for winning the Championship.

Weekly top 10

December 14, 2008 by MadisonMadnuff · 3 Comments

The top ten for this week is a little late but that is because I actually had to do some research for this one.  It seems like when I came back from vacation the NFL was in turmoil. Pac’Man was reinstated. Players were in trouble for using banned substances. Plaxico Burress had even shot himself in the leg. In light of all these circumstances I have decided to do the NFL’s top 10 f*”&k ups.  My criteria is not solely based on behavior, but on the talent of the player as well, meaning bums who got into trouble don’t make the list.  Here you go.

1)O.J. Simpson

“Come on O.J. really?”  I am not going to talk about what O.J. did He just should have known that when they had the chance they would get him.  O.J. is the clear number one on this list. After dodging one major bullet, O.J. decides that he is going to step in front on another one 13 years later.

oj simpson Weekly top 10

2)Rae Carruth

This guy was on a budding franchise known as the Carolina Panthers, and then does one of the most horendous crimes you can commit… murder.  This guy set his wife up, and thought he had gotten away with it.  When the cops came to get him he tried to hide in the trunk of his car? What!!!? Clearly this guy makes one of the top spots on the list.

rae curruth Weekly top 10

3)Nate Newton

The infamous Nate Newton from the infamous Dallas Cowboys - this guy was just crazy.  He was busted with an unbelievable 213 pounds of marijuana.  Nate was quoted as saying “I wanted to be the biggest drug dealer ever.”

Well Nate, if you believe it you can achieve it. Way to dream big.

nate newton Weekly top 10

4)Bam Morris

Big Bam Morris played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Ravens, and like his friend Nate Newton, he got busted for drugs.  However unlike Nate, he just kept messing up; he was charged with possession of 4 kilograms of marijuana and 1 gram of cocaine in 1996, then charged with battery in 1997 and then pleaded guilty to drug trafficking in 2000.  Then just to ice the cake he violated his parole in 2001 and was sentenced to 10 years in jail.

bam morris Weekly top 10

5)Maurice Clarett

This guy wasn’t in the league but for a split second, but it doesn’t matter now. Still, you really couldn’t doubt that he was talented.  However, after getting drafted, despite being out of shape and overweight, he decided that he wasn’t going to bust his butt to get into shape for camp.  This lead to him being cut which lead to him trying to rob a store and subsequently being sentenced to jail, for robbery, and holding a concealed weapon without a permit.

You should have taken the guaranteed money Maurice.

maurice clarret Weekly top 10

6)Plaxico Burress

Plaxico Burress f&**ed up just in time to make this list. Instead of being known as the guy who caught the winning touchdown in the Superbowl, he is now known as the guy who shot himself in the leg.

That is an NFL first congrats to Plax.

plaxico burres Weekly top 10

7)Mike Vick

Well we all know the story of Mike Vick and his dog fighting (not to mention that his brother also got into a lot of trouble). Mike only comes in at 7 on the list because he is a genetic f”*&k up. It is in his genes to mess up. I honestly believe that he can’t help it. Again, just look at his brother.

mike vick 300x204 Weekly top 10

8)Pac’Man jones

Pac’Man is another one of those gentic f*&k ups. It seems like he just can’t help but to mess up.  Pac’Man made it rain in Las Vegas to the tune of $80,000, but then decided that he wanted the rain back.  When he couldn’t get it back there was a scuffle and someone got shot.  “Great job Pac’Man”; and that is just the most publicized incident. He has some many others that it would take 3 articles to go through all of them.

adam jones Weekly top 10

9) Ricky Williams

Ricky is low on the list because he is just plain silly. The guy is one of the most talented backs ever, but he loves to smoke weed.  So much so that after he got suspended multiple times for it, he decided that he would just retire so he could smoke all the weed he wanted.

That is what I call dedication.

ricky williams Weekly top 10

10)Antonio Bryant

A more recent name is Antonio Bryant. He is on the list because of his off-field troubles as well, but what really puts him on the list is his talent.  Antonio is one of the most talented receivers in the league but the guy was not even in the league last year.  After some smaller off the field troubles in Dallas, and Cleveland, he capped it off by driving over 100 mph in his Lamborghini while intoxicated which lead to his suspension in San Francisco, and ultimately his dismissal from the team. The guy was such a f*&k up that last year he was eligible to play in the NFL, but no team wanted to take a chance on him and now look at him.  All I can say is “Don’t blow it Antonio.”

This weeks top ten is focused on the holidays; we here at Sportsroids put together the top ten things that NFL Players are thankful for. Enjoy.

1)      They are thankful for Pacman Jones for taking all the attention off of them so they are free to get high without having the NFL on their back

pacman Weekly top 10 (Holiday style)

2) They are thankful for guaranteed money on contracts so that way even if they never play a down and  get cut they can still get paid.

3) Thankful for team sponsorships because even though they make millions of dollars there is nothing like getting everything for free anyway.

4) Thankful for the fact that when the entire teams sucks no matter how bad they are personally the coaches are the ones to get fired.

5) They are also thankful for the fact that they make more money the people who are in charge of them (buck the establishment)

6) Of course they are thankful for helmets that way nobody really recognizes their face so when scrubs and back-ups go out at night all they have to say is “I play professional football” and the females are none the wiser on whether they are the all-star that ran for 200 yards last week, or the guy who got signed off waivers on a 1 week contract because the other full time bum got put on the IR list.

7) Their thankful that there is no such thing as a thanksgiving diet in the NFL and they get to eat whatever they want at this time of year.

8) Their thankful for the playoffs because if rankings were deiced by a computer anybody with both the Lions and the Bengals on their schedule would automatically be out of the running.

9) NFL Players are thankful for their superior athletic ability because  when a 5’0ft tall man who weighs 300lbs and can barley walk up the steps without reaching for an oxygen mask; calls into a radio station or writes a blog about how much they suck, it is easy for them to shrug it off.

This week’s award goes to Randy Moss I know their were a lot of impressive performances this week but 3 receiving TDs that’s the truth straight up Homie, Matt Cassell has to put in more work to get this prestigious award plus without Randy Moss none of his stats would be possible. After being “disrespected” as Randy put it when they played him single coverage he torched the Dolphins. Randy managed to get 8 receptions for 125 yards and 3TDS , and now the Dolphins know when you disrespect Randy Moss you disrespect yourself and that my friends is why Randy Moss has Mad Skills.

So it hasn’t been a good year for me this year on my Monday Night picks but it still looks like my Superbowl choices have a chance (check out my pre-season prediction in the football section.)  This week is another tough one but… “I got this.”  Green Bay takes on New Orleans or “Norlens if ya from the bayou”.  These are two teams that can put up some points, so I am going to have to go with the team that is more complete and that is Green Bay.  Both teams will put points on the board, but while Green Bay’s defense is not playing that well it is still better than the Saints and that is going to be the difference.  Look for Green Bay’s defense to come up big late in second half and then again late in the fourth.

Weekly top 10

This weeks top 10 is the top 10 NFL teammates that you would not want to run into in an alley.  We all know the NFL has some scary guys out their but certain teams have  two guys that you just do not want to run into here is my top ten list .

1.ray lewis Weekly top 10    tereel suggs 300x243 Weekly top 10

Ray Lewis, Terrell Suggs:

You do not want to run into these guys in an alley, or in your house, or at a party hell you don’t want to bump into one of these guys at Disney World, who knows what they would do to you if drop some Mickey Mouse ice cream on one of their shoes.

2.Brandon Jacobs, Justin tuck:

These dudes are huge  rumor has it that Justin tuck can rip a mans heart out with his bare hands and give it to Brandon Jacobs who will then take it and run over your entire family on his way to spike your heart in the middle of the endzone at Giants Stadium.

3.Brian Urlacher, Tommie Harris:

Brain Urlacer may have been a chump before he started using swagger, but now he is defiantly not a person you want to run into in an alley, hell the guy looks like he should be in Universal soldier, and Tommie Harris is closest thing to the real life Debo I have ever seen god forbid you run it him and your name is Craig.

4.Takeo Spikes, Patrick Willis:

Takeo Spikes just looks like he wants to murder you, and Patick Willis looks like he wants to help.

5.Pat William, E.J. Henderson:

E.J. Henderson looks pissed of at the world and if you are a part of the world well….That means he is mad at you to, Pat Williams eats babies…..of elephants, so you would just be a snack to him, but unluckily for you he is always snacking.

6.James Harrison, Aaron smith:

James Harrison and Aaron Smith look like they are straight out of a prison movie, if you run into these guys in an alley you are going to need more than a Shawshank Redemption.

joey porter 270x300 Weekly top 10        randy starks Weekly top 10

7. Joey Porter, Randy Starks:

Joey Porter was the first (you don’t want to see me in an alley) guy, and rightfully so; because you don’t see Joey Porter in a alley.  If you are in a alley and Joey Porter is at the same time you just cease to exist.  Hell Randy really doesn’t even need to be on this list because of that.

8.Adam Jones, Tank Williams:

I would put these guys higher on the list but there is only so much that they can do to you in alley because the FEDS are probably watching them.

tokka rahzar Weekly top 10

9.A.J. Hawk, Nick Barnett:

Well we have all seen Ninja turtles right?  Remember Tokka and Rahzar, yeah? Well after that movie they apparently became linebackers for the Green Bay Packers, I mean  these two guys are beast, if you bump into them you better make sure that you have some num nums.

10. John Henderson, Mike Peterson:

John Henderson is 6’7 and weighs over 300 pounds odds are if you ran into him in a alley Mike Peterson would be sitting on his shoulder talking trash while Henderson slaps you in the mouth just to get hype for a game.

tom brady Bradyless Patriots lose to JetsWell it seems that Brett Favre will achieve the goals that the organization has set for him and that is to take the team to the Playoffs.  The Jets jumped on the Pats early in the game though the Pats were able to come back, it wasn’t enough.   You can’t help to think that if Brady was playing they would have won that game.   However he is not and will not. The Pats with this loss, have solidified themselves at second place in the AFC East.  Why?  Because of the two teams, the Pats have to play tougher teams, and the Jets look really good, while the Pats are getting by on coaching alone.   Look for the Jets to win the Division and the Pats to struggle to grab a birth in the playoffs.

No stupid Adrian Peterson, last week he single handedly beat a team at the running back position.  It is almost impossible for running back to carry and entire team in the past 18 years there are only 2 backs who have be able to do it, Barry Sanders-Hall of famer, and LaDainian Tomlinson-future Hall of Famer.  Andrian Peterson is in the same league as these guys, he is “The Man Child” of the NFL.  Last week he willed his team to victory like you would expect a quarterback to do, that and 192 rushing yards and a TD are the reason Adrian Peterson has mad skillz.

larry fitzgerald Monday Night GuaranteeThis week we have the Arizona Cardinals against the San Francisco 49ers a conference clash that really no one is excited about, the 49ers are one of the worst teams in the league and the Cardinals have no fans.   However look for the Cardinals to create some fans on during Prime time this week.  The 49ers are going to get owned this week mainly because the offensive is going to put the defense in bad situations like they have been doing all year.

Top Ten 10 NFL Head coaches of 2008

jeff fisher Top Ten 10 NFL Head coaches of 2008Mad’Nuff Weekly top 10

From now on Each week I will bring you my top 10 Whatever, it could my top ten sports teams or my top 10 sports drinks, who knows,  This week I will give you the top 10 head coaches for 2008 in the NFL.

1.       Jeff Fisher

Gets the top spot for what he is doing with the Titans right now he knows how to give his team the best chance to win.  They are not the most talented team in the league by a long shot but with Jeff Fisher running the team defense first, run second, manage third the Titans are guaranteed a top seed in the AFC playoffs this year.

2.       Bill Belichick

I hate this guy and he is clearly a cheater in my eyes but he is still a pretty good coach, no one in the league schemes a team like Belichick does and I mean no one.

3.       Andy Reid

Andy Reid and his famous offense are what keep the Eagles winning year after year the Eagles never have any #1 wideouts but always mange to put up large offensive number, mostly in part because of the excellent offensive packages he has.

4.       Mike Tomlin

Mike is the head coach of one of the NFL’s most historic teams and he is only 36 years old, he has taken a team that was .500 before he came to the playoffs in his first year, and it seems like this year the Steelers will be a top seed in the Playoffs.  Mike’s willingness to bend just enough for the sake of his coordinators helps him keep his team winning

5.       Eric Mangini

Mangenius is just that; a genius when it comes to coaching if he could beat his mentor more often he might be higher on the list.  There is not a coach in the league that is able to win as much as Mangini with as little talent.  The Jets are one of the most unimpressive teams when it comes to talent but Mangini has the schemes to turn losers into winners….kind of.

6.       Tom Coughlin

From tough as nails to the players coach Coughlin has turned the Giants into a true football team.  He has managed to get rid of egos, and distractions to get his team focused on one goal another Superbowl.  Many coaches find it hard to keep a team focused after they have won it all but Coughlin knows how to manage players and keep them focused better than any coach in the league.

7.       Jeff Fox

Jeff had caught a few tough breaks in his tenure in Carolina but this year he is showing people what he can do when all the guys he needs to run his system are healthy, he needs a big win this year in the playoffs or he may not make the next list because he will no longer be a head coach.

8.       John Gruden

Chucky, the guy is a maniac but he knows how to win with anybody at the helm.  John Gruden is one of the best at putting his individuals players in the best position to win, it doesn’t matter whether or not it is a quarter back, running back, or wideout John will make you succeed if you are starting for him.

9.       Tony Dungy

The man invented the Tampa cover 2, it is still one of the most effective defenses this year.  With his team reeling he seems poised to earn this spot in the top ten by squeaking off enough games to get a hurt and battered team to the playoffs.

10.   Ken Whisenhunt

The guy is winning in Arizona hell Obama couldn’t even do that.   Whisenhunt is an offensive genius and again anytime you can come out on top as the head coach of the Cardinals you have to be pretty good.

Not Guilty10 Reasons Santonio Holmes was set up

Santonio Holmes has recently been suspended for Marijuana possession when he was pulled over by a police officer. But I say he is not guilty and shouldn’t be suspended here is why.

1. It is clear the officer was a Giants fan and he planted the drugs to take him out of this weeks game.

2. Citing conspiracy as this is America so how would he be able to get marijuana when it is ILLEGAL

3. Ray Lewis said that if he didn’t get high with him he would put a bounty on him too.

4. The weed that they confiscated was dirt weed Santonio only smokes stickiest of the icky.

5. Ricky Williams was not the passenger in the car so their couldn’t have been any weed.

6. They say he handed the officer Blounts but what they didn’t say was that they were Blounts’ cards

as in Mel Blount the Steelers Hall of Fame Corner Back.

7. He fell prey to an e-mail scam disguised as a letter from Roger Goodell saying weed no longer is against NFL rules.

8. He didn’t realize that he was driving Bam Morris’ car.

9. He could have swore that the blunts were just roles of quarters

10. If he doesn’t have the hand eye coordination to catch a ball how can he roll a blunt?

monda night football MadNuff NFL Monday Night GuaranteeMad’Nuff Monday Night Guarantee

Well Sportsroiders it has been a while but I am back just in time to give you my Monday night guarantee.   This week we have the New England Patriots against the Denver Broncos this is a very tough call.  When you look at the two coaches, it is quite scary thinking of how each is planning to destroy the other this week.  So…….what are we going to see this Monday you ask?  Well look for the Broncos to put up a lot of points in a lopsided victory.  An ageing Patriots Defense will have trouble against the Shannohan machine.  With Matt Cassel managing the game it is going to put them behind early and when it comes to turn it on to get the lead back the Patriots will score a view bringing the score within reach.  However it will be too little too late.

Point Spread: Denver (31-14)

Look for the Broncos to win by three scores yes it is a rather high number but the Patriots will not have an answer to the youth of the Broncos offense; and Matt Cassel is going to make a mistake to give the Broncos 3 or 7 to take the lead by 3 scores

Well it’s the beginning of the season so who is going to win the Superbowl? TO early to tell?

Not for me. I am going to call it right here and right now before the season even starts, before a single snap is taken. Bold you say. Very; but I called it when the Steelers won in 05 and called it when the Colts won in 06 before a single snap was ever taken. Will I be right? probably, but the statistics are against me. So who am I saying? You really want to know?

Well For the AFC I have the Pittsburgh Steelers after winning the Division and fighting through the toughest schedule in the NFL the Steelers will push out to the super bowl.

For the NFC I have the Dallas Cowboys. Yes the boys, no they are not my boys (I hate them) but I gotta keep it real. After they come in second behind the Eagles in the Division the Cowboys will make the push to the Super Bowl. Which means a repeat of the 1995 match up probably with the Steelers playing the colts in the AFC Championship game again. With the Steelers winning it all. Why? After losing to the Cowboys in the regular season they will win this rematch because in the NFL the losing team always has the upper hand. So there you have it folks. My super bowl picks, so make sure you write them down, note the time, date and lock it up because I called it.
