Jamal Crawford rises up out of New York

Jamal Crawford rises up out of New York

Jamal Crawford was sent to Golden State today in a trade deal that will bring disgruntled Foward Al Harrington to New York. Mike D’Antoni has had his eyes on this player for a long time, ever since Harrington had gone public with his distaste for his basketball situation in golden state. Now, the big question is who is going to be the big shooter for the knicks? Is it possible that Mike D’Antoni will now look back to Steph, to come replace crawford? Is it possible that he has played everyone for a sap, resting Steph keeping him fresh, for when he would move Jamal! Could it be that he increased Jamal’s value ?

Knicks new Foward AL Harrington

One thing is for certian, Donnie Walsh is making changes. The next trade on the table is Zach Randolph, who has been supposively place with Mardy Collins in a deal for Tim Thomas & Cuttino Mobley of the Golden State Warriors. I don’t see the point of this trade, though. Hopefully Walsh will get more back than just Thomas and Mobley cause personally I don’t see the value in that trade.

Redskins Acquire Bro Bowl Cornerback DeAngelo Hall

It's time for DeAngelo Hall to step up his game again. This time he has to do it in Washington.

In just four and a half seasons, DeAngelo Hall is already on his third NFL team.

The Washington Redskins agreed to a one year deal worth just over $800,000 with cornerback DeAngelo Hall on Friday November 7th, who had just been waived by the Oakland Raiders. It didn’t take too long for the Pro Bowler to find himself a new home. Although there has been a consensus that Hall has been underachieving this past half-season in Oakland, and the previous year in Atlanta, when looked at closely, it is easy to see why Hall can be a good fit for the Redskins.

First of all, Washington has been suffering from injuries in the secondary, and namely at cornerback; starter Shawn Springs, nickel back Fred Smoot, and backup Leigh Torrence. And although none of the three has been injured for extended periods of time, they have all been injured frequently and sporadically enough that the Redskins could not pass up this opportunity.

Aside from the injury bug in Washington, there is also the stable of wide receivers the Redskins have to face twice each year within their division. The New York Giants sport big game and big height, six foot five inch, Plaxico Burress. We all know about Dallas and Terrell Owens, but now with the pickup of big game, and six foot three, Roy Williams, the necessity for a player of Hall’s talents is ever more of the essence. Finally, the Eagles have a budding star in rookie DeSean Jackson, whose 34 receptions for 525 yards have him on pace to reach 1,050 total, and a quarterback in Donovan McNabb who has shown a propensity to do more with less over his career.

As long as DeAngelo Hall can resume the level play during his Pro Bowl garnering seasons, then the Redskins will have made a good choice. If not, they don’t lose much as they only signed him for the remainder of this season.

To think that Allen Iverson has not been thrown into a better situation by being traded from the Denver Nuggets to the Detroit Pistons is a preposterous line of thought. He’ll be leaving a team that has been knocked out of the 1st round of the playoffs the last three seasons in only five games in each one of those series.
Although the Nuggets have a proven leader in Chauncey Billups, success may not come as easy playing the west as opposed to the east for this former Finals MVP.

Iverson now joins the cream of the crop in the East. And even if the Pistons would be hard-pressed to make it to at least the Eastern Conference Finals for four straight years in the West as they have in the East, the fact remains that they are part of the elite in their own conference. Two of the key factors in this trade are the timing and the cap space that has been cleared up.Iverson and the rest of the Pistons will now have over 70 games to gel before the playoffs, and with the 20 million plus dollars in spending room that General Manager Joe Dumars has created, the Pistons can afford to make some more moves before this year’s trade deadline and/or especially before the start of next season to make Iverson’s new team even stronger. As for the concerns that the loss in the trade for the Pistons of Chauncey Billups as a true point guard and floor general, don’t count out Allen Iverson’s potential in that same role.

GM Joe Dumars looks to have made good on this deal in his goal to get the Pistons their second NBA Championship under his direction.

Over the last five seasons he has averaged 7.3 assists per game, while Billups has averaged 6.8.

If Iverson can cut down on his 3.9 turnovers per game as opposed to Billups 2.2 through that same five year span, then his 29 points per game against Billups’ hardly comparable 17 per game, also in the past five years can do wonders. Add that to his assists per game and much more playoff savvy crew than the one in Denver, and the Pistons are a clear cut prime contender to overtake the Boston Celtics as Eastern Conference Champions, and perhaps even attain home court advantage throughout the East if not the entire playoffs.

Jerry Jones Dooms Dallas Cowboys Future

Roy Williams WR Cowboys

Roy Williams WR Cowboys

Jerry Jones does it again. Today he made a move to acquire all the Roy Williams in the final hours before the NFL trade deadline. Jerry now has A DB and a WR who share the same name. Yuppie!!! Sorry Jerry, this move is just flat out stupid. This is the type of trade where he will either look like a genius or look like a retard. We are pulling for retard. Sportsroids believes that the move won’t help him in win this year and is going to destroy his team in the future. Yes you’re getting a top talent wide-out. Yes he is better than Crayton or Austin. But why would you give up a 1st,3rd and 6th round picks for this guy? Not to mention now he has to learn a new playbook and system. Seriously Jerry what were you thinking? I bet it was something like this, “Ok, we just lost Pacman Jones, and Terrance Newman has been hurt, and our biggest issue is that our defensive backfield is in disarray. Oh wait I know! Lets get a new pre-madonna wide receiver, that will fix it!”.My question is, “How can better the team next year if you have only a 2nd round pick? I can’t wait to see T.O. loose his mind because of Roy Williams, I can’t wait to see it. Obvoiusly Jerry Jones thinks T.O. might fly the coup pretty soon if he is doing this. If Owen’s catches decrease and they loose its going to be WW3 in Dallas. On second thought, maybe the move was to scare T.O. into not exploding, but I doubt it. I love T.O. and all he wants is to win, and its his competitive nature is what makes him good. Jerry, don’t try to step on that. You’ll loose that battle Jerry. Hey don’t you think Jerry is starting to look a little like Al Davis. Maybe he should just slow down, and realize that he already has enough star power to get people talking about the cowboys and learn how and where to buy the right pieces to make his organization unstoppable. Roy Williams is a WR with great potential yet he has much to prove. Roy has only posted one 1000+ yard season in his 5 year career. Seriously 1st, 3rd and 6th round picks!!! Oh yeah they resigned Roy to a new contract as well. Its a 5 year contract!! Jerry your nuts!

How’ bout those cowboys? Personally, I think they are all bark no bite!

HEY JERRY !!! SPORTSROIDS has something to say to you…..
