With 30,154 fans in attendance on May 14, 2009 the Mets upset the San Francisco Giants in the early hours of the morning on the east coast. It’s almost a tradgety that most poeple would not have seen this performance considering the Time the game took place on the east coast. It was a record setting night for the New York Mets. The Mets looked like they were going to blow another game, in classic fashion, when the bullpen once again coughed up the lead late in the game. John Maine pitched 6 2/3rds Innings putting the Mets in a great spot for victory. The Mets base running and bats came alive in this game, ironically without the help of resting Jose Reyes and the aging Carlos Delgado. The Mets posted a record 7 stolen bases in this game, 4 of which were due to the outright hustle of David Wright. David Wright was without a doubt the hero of tonight’s game batting in the go ahead run in the 9th with an RBI single. The New York Mets would score 3 runs in the 9th and maintain the victory due to the great pitching of the newly acquired K-rod. The Final score was NYM 7 SFG 4.

The Mets seem to be looking pretty good from a offensive position. With Jose Reyes returning to the lineup tomorrow, the Mets will be looking to stop Giants Starter Tim Lincecum, RHP (3-1, 3.25) who has posted three W’s in his last three starts.
